Teller – Chickasha Branch/NW/Main

Position Summary
Primarily responsible for providing the highest form of member service, to provide “frontline” financial transactions for members accurately, efficiently, and professionally while adhering to Teller Procedures and Credit Union Policies. Consistently identifying opportunities to generate referrals and cross-sell various products and services and ensuring the operations of all teller responsibilities with emphasis on proper performance of duties. Provide a friendly interaction with members, while providing them with information about Credit Union products and services. Greeting the member by name during interaction and thanking member for their business after the transaction is completed.

Essential Functions, Expectations and Responsibilities:

1. Greet and welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional, and timely manner, providing prompt, accurate, and efficient member transactions.
2. Receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposit to accounts verifying amounts, adding holds if needed, and examining them for proper endorsements. Also perform check cashing transactions, withdrawals, loan payments, and transfer of funds entering all transactions correctly into the computer system.
3. Count cash received or cash disbursed while processing a transaction no less than 3 times to assure accuracy.
4. Assist with mail or email transactions when available.
5. Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and services that are handled or promoted by tellers. Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all related policies and procedures, rules, and regulations for the teller area, including robbery procedures and those policies related to Bank Secrecy Act regulations.
6. Promote and cross-sell other credit union services such as consumer and mortgage loans, debit, and credit cards, checking accounts and on-line banking.
7. Ensure that the teller station and area is properly stocked with forms, supplies, brochures, etc.
8. Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift comparing totaled amounts to computer totals. Research and resolve discrepancies reporting any outages to management.
9. Maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
10. Maintain a professional work environment and a businesslike appearance.
11. Other duties related to essential job functions to meet organizational needs.

Experience: This position requires at least 6 months of cash handling experience in a retail sales environment and/or previous banking experience. Must be Sales and Member Service Oriented.
Education: A high school education or GED. Must complete Online General Knowledge and assigned Teller Courses located in the BAI Online training module.
Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purpose of giving or obtaining information that may require some discussion.

Other Skills: Ten-key calculator and computer keyboard by touch. Good communication and organizational skills. Working knowledge of all credit union policies and procedures, plus products and services. Initiative for acquiring the skills and related education that is needed to perform his/her job to the best of his/her ability. Attention to detail and basic mathematical and balancing concepts are also required.
